Zach's 1st Birthday

We had a little celebration for Zach's 1st birthday tonite cos he was in Aussie on holiday with Mum and Dad for his actual birthday on the 8th. He is now walking everywhere which is real hardcase to watch. We were also going to celebrate Kelly's 25th (13/2) but she had a bad stomach bug and did not come up. A few pix of tonite follow, I think Zach may have been wondering what it was all about especially the bad singing..........

Concours @ Ellerslie

The big show of the year for Auckland, this year hosted by the Mustang Owners Club which resulted in huge turn out of very nice Mustangs. The Fraser 7 guys had 9 cars on display including a V6 Mazda beast, the MG Car Club was well represented... I must renew my membership of both clubs................

Pic 4 & 5: 1964 Sprite powered by a Toyota twin cam. This grabbed my attention as a certain Warkworth based car builder reckons when I blow the arse out of the MG engine this is what we replace it with?? Some impressive figures quoted on the cars spec sheet. MMmmm engine fits nicely..... Mind you I have to get the MG on the track before I get a chance to blow it up!! March 17 & 18 looks like the big debut............

Waitangi Day here in Paradise. This is now I spent my day off... getting the Kiwi naked!!

Ford 10

Had to add this. This is the exact model of the very first car I ever owned. I worked as a labourer during my school holidays and saved the princely sum of $56, the car cost $56. My Dad a mechanic went mental when he saw it. Jeff Mac's Dad Dave mixed a few colours together and painted it .... I guess you could call it a bluey colour with a white side flash with copper metal flakes. I rolled the car and totalled it outside the local cop's house while he was having lunch, result one ticket for careless use that I eventually got off.

Galaxy of Cars...

Iinz and I went to the Galaxy of Cars at MOTAT today. I thought last years show was a bit of a let down but todays was fantastic, a lot bigger than previous years. Someone had even mowed the display area. Great weather, great line up and variety of cars. My favourite was a XK150 Jag.. we spoke to the owner, I mentioned that there was a grouse Red one here most years and it turns out this lucky bugger owns them BOTH!!!
