After all the DNFs and seatbelt issues last seasons Lindz & I headed to Pukekohe for the first meeting of the 08/09 season determined that all those frustrations were behind us. The day started disastrously... BLOODY HARD BOILED Egg Benny @ the AutoBahn, the only redeeming feature ... harsh browns.
Once the paperwork was out of the way we got down to a bit of racing, with last years hassles I had started having some doubts about whether I was really enjoying this car racing thing BUT after 2 laps any doubts quickly disappeared.. this is AWESOME!!
The car went well, the driver needs a bit of a tune up but the times came down... all in all a fantastic day.
Sunday: Lindz and I casually made our way towards Pukekohe enjoying the extra time we had thanks to a later Sunday start ,a nice late start marred again by a sub standard Egg Benny bekkie at yet another Autobahn!!
As we arrived there were cars hurling at race speed around the track .... OOOOpppps!!! 9 o'clock start not 10 o'clock as Kerry thought. A quick sprint across to the car, a quick change into my race gear and 5 minutes later I was on the grid. Thankfully we had left the car and trailer there overnite.
Four races, Four finishes, some good times, lots of fun and a car in one piece... what more can a man ask for????
Thanx once again Lindz but Mate can you at least PhotoShop some of those pix of me b4 you send them, only flattering ones will be published on this blog..... my gut cant be that big???
